(TRADE NEWSWIRE): A two-time former General-Manager, Public Affairs and General Manger, Administration of the Nigerian Ports Authority; also a one-time General Manager, Human Resources; and General Manager, Western Ports of NPA, Chief Micheal Kayode Ajayi, who hails from Mopa Land, a Yoruba-speaking area in Kogi State, has retired from the service of the NPA on March 8, 2017, just as he clocks 60 years on March 15, 2017, TRADE NEWSWIRE reports.

Chief M.K Ajayi, a Person-oriented, detribalised and religious-tolerant leader, who just retired but not tired, served NPA for 24 years and exited as the General-Manager, Public Affairs of the Agency, a position, he was returned to occupy in 2016, despite limited time left for him to serve NPA before retirement, after being the General Manager, Western Ports of NPA, between 2015 and 2016.

Chief M.K. Ajayi is 60 years

The second time return of Chief Ajayi as the image maker of the Agency, a position he once occupied between 2010 and 2013, same way he was returned to the position of GM, Administration in 2013 till 2015, haven held the position between 2009- 2010.

Stakeholders in the maritime sector concluded that Chief Ajayi’s usual return to previously held departments couldn’t be far-fetched from his person-oriented leadership qualities, effective and efficient handling of his assigned duties cum value-laden relationship with members of the public and staff of the Agency.

Brief information about Mopa where Chief M.K Ajayi hails from

Mopa is a Christian-dominated town in Kogi state, formed from the Yoruba word of (Imo-Papo) English meaning (people with same ideology). It was three communities namely Iloke, Ikeji and Odole headed then by Osa Atobakeru- Iloke; Osaoloro Oludoyi- Odole and Asalu-Ikeji in 1916 that agreed to come together to now form a town that is today known as Mopa, as the king of Mopa is called the Elelu of Mopa. Mopa people speak Yoruba Language in their indigenous Yagba/ Mopa local dialect.

Prominent Nigerians from Mopa includes Late Sunday Awoniyi, the chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum, who was in his lifetime the Aro of Mopa. WHO IS CHIEF MICHEAL KAYODE AJAYI

Chief Micheal Ajayi hails from Mopa Land in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State. He attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the University of Ibadan where he bagged B.A. (Combined Honours) in Political Science and Philosophy; and MSc in Public Administration respectively among other academic qualifications.

He worked meritoriously with the Nigerian Ports Authority for 24 years between 1993 and 2017 and occupied different positions of authority from being a two-time former General-Manager, Public Affairs and General Manger, Administration of NPA; and a one-time General Manager, Human Resources; and General Manager, Western Ports of NPA.

Chief M.K Ajayi had attended professional training on different course of studies from best schools in the world ranging from Harvard Business School Boston, USA; Harvard Negotiation Institute, Harvard Law School Boston, USA; Ripa International, London; Spring Fountain, Russel Square, London; Samvic, London; London Corporate Training; FCTL Dubai.
