The National Leader of the Governing Party, The All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Lagos State Governor, the Jagaban of Africa, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, clocks 66 years on 29th of March 2018, engendering peace in Nigeria and Africa for good governance.

The meaning of Jagaban is ‘Leader of Warriors’ while Borgu is an Emirate in Nigerian traditional state with its capital in New Bussa, Niger State, Nigeria. Borgu Emirate was formed in 1954 when the Bussa and Kaiama emirates were merged.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was turbaned with the title ‘Jagaban Borgu’ meaning ‘Leader of Warriors in Borgu’ on 26th February, 2006, by the late Emir of Borgu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Haliru Dantoro III, a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Tinubu’s contribution to democracy and good governance as radiated beyond a town, senatorial district, state, region, but now encompasses entire Nigeria as a country and Africa continent with the emergence of The All Progressives Congress (APC), as the Governing Party in Nigeria in place of the then largest Party in Africa from the seat of government, a development that naturally earns him the title (The Jagaban of Africa) French language (Jagaban de l’Afrique)

Akanbi omo Alhaja (Akanbi the Son of Alhaja), Yoruba language –Akole oriki Tinubu (Omo Olodo ide) English meaning- The Anchor of Tinubu’s praise poetry ( A son begotten with pool of Brass- Brass was the most valuable and precious metal in the olden days just as Gold is in present day).

Tinubu, a Political Strategist, par excellence, has been engendering peace within and outside of his party, APC and Nigeria as a whole while not excepting his complimentary role in Africa with the provision of his private jet that was used to airlift the former president of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh, out of the Gambia for peaceful restoration of democracy/ good governance in the country following his forceful exit from power in January 2017.

Tinubu complimented the efforts of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, who championed and led other West African Presidents to make the exit of Jammeh a success.

Tinubu’s love for peace and Good Governance in Nigeria, West Africa and Africa as whole made him to allow is leased Chartered private jet to airlift Jammeh out of Gambia following a consultation with Tinubu by some leaders to that effect.

First, Tinubu, no doubt, could have considered the political instability the Gambia, a member country in the West African region could experience if Jammeh remained in the country inspite of the fact that he had been forced to resign.

Secondly, Tinubu could also have envisaged the spill-over effect that likely political instability in Gambia could have on Nigeria, his own country, considering that Nigeria is also a West African country and its general effect in Africa, a pointer to the reason Jammeh’s exit out of Gambia was facilitated with Tinubu’s private jet.

Tinubu’s reason(s) for providing the private jet had since been achieved, as there was no political tension in Gambia, Nigeria and by extension Africa with respect to Jammeh’s exit from the country, a development that will make The Gambia Government to concentrate in offering good governance for her citizenry.

Though, Tinubu, have not made any comment till date on the provision of his private jet to that effect, but the public were aware of the role he played in that respect.
