Honourable Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN),

To Minister Fashola: Sango to Iyana -Ilogbo axis of Lagos-Abeokuta Exp deteriorates further, now takes toll on user’s health

.Road will become totally impassable in the next few months

.Urgent intervention needed

.The bad road now damages not only vehicle but also human health

|TRADE NEWSWIRE|: Following a temporary rehabilitative intervention on Sango to Iyana -Ilogbo axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in mid-October of last year, specifically 12th -16th October, 2017 with stone-filling of some bad spots especially between Owode and Iyana-Ilogbo with high caliber-sized granite stones to heave a sigh of temporary relief, the road has now deteriorated further beyond vehicular passage and needed to be urgently rehabilitated, TRADE NEWSWIRE reports.

This is to tell you that the bad road now not only damage vehicles but also human health, as road users now complain of body pain ‘STRESS’ whenever they passes the road, coupled with exorbitant fare price owing to the bad road and unwarranted vehicular traffic caused by it.

It will be killing to the masses/ road users to have to grapple with a twin problem of HEALTH AND FINANCIAL STRESS at a time like this. ‘Note that it is only the living that can drive and be driven on a road with respect to the health effects the road now have on users, nobody will die, neither the Minister nor the road users will, we will all live to enjoy Nigeria together’.

We HUMBLY urge you to help Nigerians put a permanent stop to this worrying experience, and quickly rehabilitate the bad road for the benefit of all.

Truth be told that staff of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, were sighted fixing some bad spots some few kilometers after Iyana-Ilogbo before getting to Ifo, precisely in mid January 2018; likewise drainage at Owode was also worked on briefly around late December 2017/ early January 2018, as they were seen packing the refuse and sand in the existing drainage channel, but it had since been stopped and not continued to actually achieve the desired result.

ABOVE ALL, THE OWODE AND IYANA-ILOGBO NEEDED TO BE URGENTLY ATTENDED TO BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF RAIN. WHILE NOT EXEMPTING THE IDOGO RAIL BYPASS THAT INTERJECTS THE LAGOS-ABEOKUTA EXPRESS WAY AT ARIGBAJO THAT HAS ALSO GONE BAD AND COULD BE WORST WHEN WE ENTER THE RAINING SEASON.

We thank you for your understanding and co-operation, while hoping that the request would be urgently addressed.

NIGERIA SHALL BE GREAT

May God Guide Our Leaders Right
