Ogun Anthem was translated to English Language by Sulaiman Adenekan, a Strategist/ Publisher of TRADE NEWSWIRE (www.tradenewswire.net).

His Royal Majesty, The Akarigbo of Remoland, Adewale Ajayi; HRM, The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewa land, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle; The Governor and Pride of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, CON, FCA; and HRM, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, during the installation of Alake as the Chairman of Ogun State Council of Obas, at the Obas’ Complex, Oke Mosan Abeokuta.

The Governor and Pride of Ogun State, his Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Oyelaja Amosun, CON, FCA, clocks 60 years on January 25, 2018 rebuilding the State for Good Governance.

Yoruba language: (Oke agba le gun yi, ki Olorun Oba ma je ki e ja bo) English language (You have now climb the hill of the elders, may God not let you fall off it)

Your contributions in rebuilding the state since elected in 2011 till date to make it competitive with other states; economically viable so as to create windows of commercial opportunities for people living therein; and future business destination in the West African Sub-region considering its proximity to land boarders in the region.

Our higly reverred Yoruba elders say: (Ologbon ki I wa ni’lu ki a fi omugo j’oye) English meaning (A wise cannot be in the town and we make a foolish man a chief), a pointer to the reason you were eleceted in 2011 and re-elected in 2015, to turn the state around for better in order to meet up with the present day challenges.

Now that you have reached the elder’s age of 60, you deserved to be celebrated not because you are a Governor or handsome, but you deserve it for engendering development in Ogun State from Agriculture to Health, Infrastructure, Education, Commerce, Industry, Culture, Energy and Transportation to mention a few.

You have done impressively well within the limit of revenue available to Ogun State to be celebrated, it is indeed a deserving honour.

Our Yoruba elders say:( Bi omo eni ba dara ki a wi) English meaning ( If one’s child is good, let us say it as it is)

However, not without challenges and not yet eldorado as Oliver Twist will alsways ask for more, but it is obvious to all that the Mission to Rebuild Ogun State is steadily on course and we believe you are getting it right, as nobody is perfect in life except God Almighty.

So, as you clock 60 years, my advice to you as said by our Yoruba elders is that:

Yoruba language: (Jeje ni egun agba n jo) English meaning (It is gently the elderly masqurades dances)

(Nitori, agba kan ki I kan yan ju bayi lo) English meaning (Because, this is how one also get to wear the elder’s shoe- metaphor).
